Class Details 2025 Business Credit Principles Date: 01/8/2025Start Time: 2:00 PM PTEnd Time: 5:00 PM PT This comprehensive course covers all of the vital elements of business credit, including the role of credit in financial management, the components of effective credit department systems, specific government regulations that pertain to business credit, credit policy and procedures, selling terms, negotiable instruments, the Uniform Commercial Code, credit investigations, finance and business insurance, business credit fraud, factors associated with credit limits, and international trade, as well as bankruptcy codes and alternatives to bankruptcy.Upon successful completion of this course, the student will understand the role of credit in the U.S. economy and in the financial management of the company; the legal environment of credit and effective trade credit policies and procedures, including credit policy, the credit agreement/application, credit investigations and resources, credit enhancements, credit decisioning, terms of sale, payment methods, resolution of disputes and deductions, collection programs, out-of-court settlements, bankruptcy, Article 2 of the Uniform Commercial Code, and Federal laws impacting credit, including antitrust, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Instructor: Heidi Lindgren-Boyce, CCEHeidi Lindgren-Boyce, CCE has been in credit and collections since 1988 and working in the construction industry for over 34 years. In 1999 she was hired as the Senior Credit Manager for Star Rentals Inc in Kent, Washington, which has 18 branches throughout Washington and Oregon. Ms. Lindgren-Boyce, CCE, earned her B.A. Degree in Criminal Justice from Washington State University in 1987, completed the NACM CAP courses in 1994, earning her CBA in 1994, CBF in 1998 and CCE in 2000.Heidi currently is a Director on the NACM National Board, is the CFDD National Chair-Elect of Education & Scholarships, and past Chairman of NACM-BCS (WWA-AK-HI). She has been a member of CFDD Seattle since 1993, having served as its President twice, and is currently serving as its Treasurer and Programs Chair.Ms. Lindgren-Boyce was honored to receive the 2022 Credit Executive of Distinction Honoring O.D. Glaus from NACM National. She was previously honored to receive the CCE Designation of Excellence in 2011 and the CBF Designation of Excellent in 2000.Outside of NACM and CFDD she has been a volunteer President of Rumbolz Sunset Water Association, a non-profit community well water association since 2017, and previously was its Vice President/Treasurer from 2009-2017.Heidi has been married to her husband Jeff for 26 amazing years, and together they have a wonderful daughter in beautiful Snoqualmie, Washington.
