Business Law for the Trade Creditor

With the legal environment of business constantly changing, individuals working in credit and accounts receivable must have a solid understanding of the laws that affect business and credit and periodically update their knowledge.

This course is designed to introduce students to the basics of law, the legalities of contracts and the emerging importance placed upon laws affecting cybercrimes.

A 10-week course needed for obtaining your Credit Business Fellow (CBF).

Meets weekly on Thursday's from 3:00pm - 6:00pm starting January 9 – March 12, 2020

Instructor Rod Wheeland, CCE, CAE
Rod Wheeland worked for NACM Commercial Services and predecessor companies for 24 years. Before coming
to NACM in 1995, he was general credit manager for Pendleton Woolen Mills. Rod served for seven years on the
NACM Northwest Board of Directors, which he chaired in 1991-92. He is past chairman of the National Presidents
Credit Council (Riemer), an association of present and past presidents of national industry credit groups, and past
chairman of the NACM Affiliate Secretarial Council, which represents NACM Affiliates on the NACM National Board
of Directors. Rod has a master’s degree from York University in Toronto, achieved the CCE certification in 1991,
and the CAE in 2007.
