Summary:
The Credit Support Representative will assist in managing the credit and collections process, providing support to the credit team and ensuring smooth operations. This role involves handling customer inquiries, answering phones, setting up job accounts, processing lien releases, managing the department email mailbox, processing credit applications, processing customer payments, and generally delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Support: Respond to customer inquiries regarding their accounts, credit terms, and payment status. Provide excellent customer service to resolve issues promptly.
- Credit Processing: Assist in the evaluation and processing of credit applications, including gathering necessary documentation and conducting preliminary assessments.
- Job Accounts: Support the credit team in setting up job accounts, processing lien releases.
- Account Maintenance: Update and maintain accurate customer account information in the financial system. Monitor accounts for overdue payments and discrepancies.
- Collections Assistance: Support the credit team in collection activities by preparing and sending out reminders, statements, and follow-up communications.
- Documentation: Ensure all credit and collections documentation is complete, accurate, and filed appropriately. Assist in preparing reports for management review.
- Compliance: Adhere to company policies and relevant regulations in all credit and collections activities.
- Lead the review and monitoring of emails and disperse to appropriate team members.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in finance, accounting, or business administration is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a credit support or customer service role, preferably in the electrical distribution or a related industry.
- Background: Construction Lien experience preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attributes: Customer-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and listen.
Location: This role is based in San Diego, CA/Oceanside, CA
Work hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Salary Range:
- This is a non-exempt position and pays between $20.87 – $27.83 per hour. This salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, within California. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role.
