PNW Railcars Inc is seeking a Credit Analyst

The Credit Analyst (CA) primarily supports the VP Credit while collaborating with the Credit and Contracts Team and the Commercial Team. The CA is responsible for transactional and project-based duties including but not limited to preparation of credit applications, assessment of creditworthiness of existing and prospective clients, updating, understanding, and implementing credit requirements, policies and procedures, processing annual credit reviews, conducting legal document research, conducting KYCs adhering to PNW Railcar, Inc.’s (“PNWR”) approved policy and procedures, and work on special projects. This is accomplished by way of a respectful, constructive, and energetic style guided by PNW Railcar’s values and long-range objectives.

Essential Functions

·       Provide credit support to the VP Credit in the credit process and risk management of PNWR’s operating lease business.

·       Complete all assigned applications pursuant to credit criteria, existing lease/car/Salesforce data and review of legal documentation for applicable terms and conditions.

·       Ensure approval process for credit decisions is followed. Fully conform with credit guidelines and policy.

·       Assess creditworthiness of existing and prospective clients utilizing parent company’s credit policy and criteria.

·       Routinely (spot, annually and/or quarterly) perform client reviews and adjust credit ratings as needed based on performance and other credit metrics.

·       Complete and provide ratio, trend, and financial analyses of individual clients and/or peer organizations. Provide analysis of client financial statements and ensure that all data entry is accurate and complete.

·       Provide clear and objective applications and succinctly explain credit decisions reached independently or with manager’s oversight.

·       Produce obligor, asset and overall transaction risk ratings based on established criteria. Monitor ongoing risk in portfolio through ongoing research and reporting, utilizing available industry and credit resources.

·       Conduct KYC on PNWR Customers and potential Customers per PNWR policy and procedures.

·       As needed, prepare spreadsheets, summaries, reports, and opinions for manager and approvers to aid sound credit decisions on new, renewal, and existing leases/secondary market purchases.

·       As needed, assist with ordering railcar appraisals, and management and subscription of outside credit resources.

·       Participate in Documentation related training and seek to increase knowledge of all terms and conditions of PNWRs standard lease documentation as well as lessee-specific documentation.

·       Utilize public and proprietary information to research and determine underlying market trends.

·       Assist in preparation of quarterly PNWR portfolio reporting materials.

·       Review and support on peer Credit Analyst’s work as necessitated by annual Credit Review process or via application process.

·       Maintain and adhere to PNWR Credit-related SOPs and Desk Manual through routine (minimally annually) review and updating.

·       Communicate with Commercial Team as to application requirements affecting individual transactions including recommended credit enhancements, regulatory/tax requirements, industry outlooks and target markets.

Required Qualifications

·       A minimum of 2 years’ experience that demonstrates qualification of meeting the foregoing essential functions.

·       Intermediate to advanced literacy of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

·       Ability to meet PNW Railcar’s pre-employment qualifications including passing a criminal background check, employment and education verification as may apply, personal reference verification as may apply, and the willingness to sign a confidentiality and non-solicitation agreement.

·       Must minimally be 18 years in age.

·       Must be able to work a five-day per week Monday through Friday daytime hours schedule.

·       Must be able to handle the following physical rigors: ability to sit and work for multiple hours at a computer as would be typical within an office environment; ability to bend, lift, reach overhead and lift up to twenty pounds; ability to wear a face mask, gloves or other sanitation PPE as may be necessary or required by law.
