Gensco Inc is seeking a Credit Manager

The Gensco Credit Manager is responsible for performing a broad range of customer credit activities in a manner promoting maximum customer sales, while also ensuring maximum collectible receivables. This person will implement Gensco Customer Credit procedures, systems and reports to accomplish efficient, accurate and effective results. The Credit Manager will provide excellent customer service to both current and potential Gensco customers and will execute customer credit responsibilities in a disciplined, consistent, predictable and professional manner and maintain appropriate confidentialities of customer credit information.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer Service

Provide superior customer service by approaching customer credit in a positive and professional manner.

Be welcoming and friendly to all customers and treat them fairly and honestly.

Promptly make required customer credit analysis, evaluations and decisions.

Be able to be an advocate for the customer, while at the same time, protecting Gensco’s financial interests.

Effectively interact with the Credit Support Team and Accounting Department to provide the desired level of customer service Gensco’s customers.

 

Customer Credit

Implement Gensco’s Credit procedures and processes in a manner that maximizes both company sales and collectability of those sales.

Administer customer credit applications within establish guidelines, in terms of timeliness and robustness.

Ensure customer information is accurately and securely maintained within internal systems.

Perform adequate analysis, research and evaluation of a customer’s credit information in order to support credit decisions, recommendations and/or actions.

Execute customer credit responsibilities in a disciplined, consistent, predictable and professional manner and maintain appropriate confidentialities of customer credit information.

Ensure proper credit security devices are obtained from customers when appropriate.

Prepare and present a formal review of all higher risk accounts on a monthly basis to the Senior Credit Manager and CFO.

Regularly consult with Gensco Manager(s) and Sales Representative(s) on issues impacting customer accounts to facilitate a continual exchange of information in order to develop appropriate customer credit strategies.

Regularly visit customers to establish, enhance and maintain favorable customer-credit relationships.

Regularly review customer credit limits and make adjustments when necessary in a timely manner

Perform a timely “risk of loss” evaluation on all potential bad-debt accounts and formulate strategies to minimize the “risk of loss” to Gensco.

Enlist the efforts of sales and/senior management when necessary to accelerate collection issues.

Support “3rd party” collection actions.

 

Education/Experience/Skills:

Four-year college degree preferred

Two-to-five years of related work experience

Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environment

Customer service-oriented approach, responds to requests with a sense of urgency and helpfulness

Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong negotiation skills

Willing to “think out of the box” and identify process improvement opportunities

High degree of honesty, ethics and integrity with prior work experience handling confidential information

Able to operate personal computer, calculator and other office machines as well as being proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Able to work sitting or standing and to move freely throughout the facility

Able to lift and carry equipment and supplies on a frequent basis

Able to travel up to 20% of time with overnight stay required

 

Reports to:   Senior Credit Manager

 

Compensation:

This is an exempt position, not eligible for overtime compensation.

Total compensation will be commensurate with job performance.

Eligible for Team Member benefits described in Team Member Handbook.

Eligible to participate in Credit Manager annual bonus program.
