American Metals Corporation is looking to add a Credit Manager to our team. This position is responsible for managing and administering the day-to-day and long-term activities of the credit department and helps to promote and oversee a work environment that is safe and dedicated to customer satisfaction through quality and service. Job Functions:
- Responsible for overall administration and management of credit in accordance with established credit policies.
- Establishes, reviews or revises credit limits by analyzing financial statements, 3rd party credit reports, trade, and bank references.
- Monitors monthly balances and past due status of individual accounts. Monitors hold screens and assists with posting cash when needed. Also responsible for lien releases and job accounts.
- Reviews monthly reports, analyzes financial statements, makes further investigation and contacts as required, evaluates the credit risks, and approves or rejects accounts.
- Determines and ensures appropriate steps are taken when it appears credit limits have been exceeded.
- Advises management of any large credit exposure and/or bad debt which may represent a loss to the company.
- Analyzes bad debt exposure and recommends changes to reserve requirements.
- Places accounts for collection and directs the action of collection agencies or attorneys.
- Maintains credit file for permanent reference.
- Responsible for adhering to safety processes and protocols.
- All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of business concepts and principles pertinent to credit management field (i.e. business administration, economics, finance, or accounting) required.
- Ability to calculate figures using computations such as ratios, rates, and percentages, and other financial information with speed and accuracy required.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including analysis, knowledge and experience, and judgment required.
- Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers as well as internal/external customers required.
- Strong computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft applications (particularly Microsoft Excel and Word) required.
